With a passion for giving back to her community, Julaya Lewis stands out in the top five percent of the graduating senior class at Carver. She is a diligent and dependable student, who is always willing to step up when help is needed. Julaya’s commitment to study childcare as her vocational pathway reflects her sensitivity and concern for helping others. She works regularly at Carver’s in-house daycare center, monitoring the safety of staff members’ children. Julaya is also a member of the National Honor Society and Building STEPS program, which exposes high school students to science and technology-based careers. Even with her busy schedule, Julaya manages to keep a part-time job as a wait staff for Erickson Senior Living in Catonsville. Julaya aspires to become a homicide detective and plans to major in criminology and forensic psychology. She has been accepted to Alabama A&M University, Johnson C. Smith University and Trinity Washington University.
