Antwan Branch finished his senior year at Doris M. Johnson High School at the top! As the number one student in his graduating class, Antwan definitely deserves bragging rights.
Antwan underwent a rigorous application process and was rewarded for his efforts by being named a recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholarship, a last-dollar scholarship providing leadership development as well as possible graduate school funding. In addition to performing academically, Antwan is also a talented athlete who excels on the field as a member of the varsity football team and on the mat as a member of the varsity wrestling team.He even stepped it up a bit and served as captain of both the football and wrestling teams.
Current teachers and administrators describe Antwan as being one of the nicest and most respectful people you will ever meet. According to Antwan, college is the “stairway leading to success catapulting you into a wondrous career that you love.” He is looking forward to starting his first year at Towson where he plans to study engineering.
Without a doubt, Antwan deserves the recognition as CollegeBound Scholar of the Year. In addition to this honor, Antwan is also the recipient of the Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Scholarship, the Khia “DJ K-Swift” Edgerton Memorial Scholarship and the MECU, Baltimore’s Credit Union, Merit Scholarship.
