A 2005 Graduate of Northwestern High School Syed is an excellent student. Recognized as a hardworking and dedicated student, Syed has been his class valedictorian for the past three years even though English is his second language. He earned college credit by taking summer classes at Baltimore City Community College and the University of Maryland at College Park. Syed was president of his class, and was an active member of the National Honor Society.

Even with a heavy class load, Syed still found time to tutor middle school students, and teach Arabic to elementary school students. Syed has excelled as an athlete on the soccer field, cross country team, swim team and outdoor track team. He has won awards as a debater, and in community-based service learning activities. Syed also served as a page for Baltimore City Council President Sheila Dixon. Syed will attend Loyola College in the fall and plans to pursue a degree in medicine.
