COLLEGEBOUND ADVISED SCHOLAR AWARDED A "GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARSHIP"
For Immediate Release
In 1999, Bill and Melinda Gates established the Gates Millennium Scholars program to
encourage and support students to complete college and continue to earn advanced degrees
in disciplines in which their minority ethnic and social groups are currently
underrepresented. Martina is CollegeBound's first recipient of this competitively
prestigious award!
Congratulations! Martina Efeyini
"CollegeBound has really helped me through my journey to go
to college. From day one of my senior year, I came to the CollegeBound
office to get a jumpstart so I can be ready for college. Anytime
I needed something or had a question about issues concerning
college I came to the CollegeBound office to get my questions
answered. The CollegeBound Foundation has helped me get the
extra push so I can be the best I can be."
— Martina Efeyini
In the Fall, Martina can be found at Penn State University where she will be pursuing her
college and career goals. Martina wants to major in environmental and biological
engineering and then pursue a career in water treatment or some similar type of
engineering that will personally benefit people's quality of life.
Martina graduated from Walbrook Uniform Services Academy in June and her Gates Millennium
scholarship award is in excess of $22,000 annually for each of four years.
