COLLEGEBOUND STUDENT ATHLETES CONNECT WITH COLLEGE COACHES
For Immediate Release
In May, The CollegeBound Foundation sponsored "The College Athletic Recruiting Process"
seminar at Morgan State University. Bound-for-college high school student athletes from
eleven Baltimore City high schools attended this citywide event. This pre-college student
athlete seminar provides high school juniors the opportunity to meet college coaches and
learn first hand of the requirements they must meet in order to qualify for athletic
scholarships.
Students learn how to successfully participate in the college athlete recruitment process
and find out what is expected of the college athlete once he/she arrives on a college
campus. An expert panel of college coaches from Virginia Tech University, University of
Maryland College Park, and Morgan State University joined CollegeBound's own Sam Walker
and Baltimore City Public School Director of Athletics-Bob Wade- to advise and counsel
student athletes.
