CollegeBound Foundation announces a partnership with WERQ-FM 92Q during College Awareness
Month (November).
College Awareness Month 2004, proclaimed by Mayor Martin O'Malley and celebrated during
the month of November, is a community awareness event designed to promote and encourage
early college awareness to Baltimore City public school youth, their parents, educators
and the Greater Baltimore Community.
CollegeBound Foundation's mission is to enable and encourage the youth of Baltimore City
to go to college. Sharing a common target audience, 92Q and CollegeBound hope to raise
awareness of the services offered and increase the number of children reached.
In kind services 92Q will provide during College Awareness month include:
On air interviews with CollegeBound Foundation staff and students
sharing information about activities prior to events
92Q Radio personality/DJ Team to host the "Wings to Fly" Art
Slam.
Give-a-way distribution by 92Q during the "Wings to Fly" Art
Slam.
92Q Promotion truck on-site during events.
92Q presence at the Fall College Fairs CollegeBound will host
from November 3rd-10th.
Through this collaborative effort, CollegeBound will increase the reach of the early
college awareness initiative. The more that can be done to reach the youth of Baltimore
City, the better the chances they will aspire to greater things. The continued hope is
that through these efforts the children of Baltimore and their parents will begin to plan
for college. It's never too early to be College Bound!
