Together, they ensure the delivery of high-quality academic, social-emotional, financial, and career advising to undergraduate College Completion Program Scholars.

Responsibilities:  

  • Supervise a specific group of College Completion Advisors while collaborating with the other Associate Program Director to ensure overall team alignment. Monitor advisor progress and achievements, and report results to the Director of College Success.
  • Collaborate with the other Associate Program Director to align strategies, training, and support structures for student success.
  • Meet regularly with advisors to review student progress, ensure data collection, and compile reports. At least once a week, individually and collectively.
  • Lead training and onboarding of new College Completion Advisors.
  • Assist in developing a strategic plan to scale the College Completion Program, researching best practices, setting goals, and defining key milestones.
  • Serve as a liaison with Campus Liaisons at colleges and universities attended by scholars.
  • Administer surveys and focus groups to assess scholar needs and program effectiveness.
  • Support the selection process for new scholars in collaboration with Associate Director of Scholarships.
  • Collaborate with the other Associate Directors on the College Success Team to develop and implement retention and transition initiatives, including new scholar onboarding, peer mentorship, professional mentorship, CollegeBound student ambassadors, seasonal workshops, career preparation events, volunteer projects and enrichment trips.
  • Serve as project manager for major scholar events such as the Transition to College Retreat, Winter Workshops, College Welcome Sessions and Graduation Celebration.
  • Collaborate with CollegeBound’s High School Associate Directors to market the College Completion Program to high school students.
  • Work closely with the other Associate Program Director of College Completion to coordinate shared responsibilities and ensure consistency in program delivery.
  • Manage a student caseload of fewer than 15 scholars
    • Monitor academic performance and degree progress for assigned scholars through check-ins, transcript reviews, and academic course planning.
    • Conduct one trip a semester to visit scholars, provide in-person guidance, foster community, and build on-campus support networks.
    • Engage students through various communication channels, including synchronous video, email, text, chat, and proactive outreach.
    • Provide targeted support for students facing academic or personal challenges, advocating for resources and solutions to promote retention.
    • Ensure scholars meet scholarship requirements and collaborate with the Scholarship Advisor to track renewal paperwork and financial aid submissions.
    • Assist scholars in FAFSA renewal, verification processes, and financial literacy education.
    • Maintain accurate scholar records, tracking interactions and progress using the CoPilot data collection application on Salesforce.
  • Travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Non-profit Management, Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work, or Education Policy preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in academic advising, student success, or related fields preferred.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with cohort-based student programs as an advisor, recipient, or participant highly desired.
  • Experience leading a diverse team in a hybrid work environment preferred.
  • Experience working with first-generation, low-income, or underrepresented students is highly valuable.
  • Event planning or project management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with student retention metrics, data tracking software (e.g., CoPilot on Salesforce), and using data for student interventions preferred.
  • Grant writing or fundraising experience is a plus.

 

Other:

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Multilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
