The City of Baltimore established this scholarship program to enable Baltimore City students to continue their education on a collegiate level. Britney C. Bownes Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is given in memory of Britney C. Bownes, a 2003 graduate of Carver Vocational-Technical High School.  Britney understood the value of quality education and aspired to become a teacher. Diagnosed with cancer while still in high school, Britney persevered and in spite of her illness, graduated from Carver with a certificate in childcare. She had  completed one year of college at BCCC before she passed in 2005. This scholarship has been established to give back to the Carver community to support a student who possesses the same qualities and love for education that Britney exhibited.

The College Girl Inc. Jenkins Heard Scholarship
The College Girl Inc. Jenkins Heard Scholarship has been established to honor the commitment of College Girl Inc., its Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and the Co-Founders to young women in the Baltimore region. For six years, the organization was dedicated to increasing the number of disadvantaged young women who graduated from college through workshops, mentoring, college tours and scholarships. This scholarship continues the mission of the organization by providing financial support to female future first-generation college graduates and/or young women from single-parent or low-income households in the Baltimore region.

Dr. Aubrey Maurice Murphy Memorial Music Scholarship
Dr. Aubrey Maurice Murphy, an acclaimed pianist, vocal coach, organist, choral conductor and accompanist, died January 27, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. His first music lessons were with his father, George Murphy, an accomplished church musician and teacher in his own right. As an adolescent, Dr. Murphy studied piano and music theory at Howard University’s Junior Department of Music and went on to become the first African American to receive Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory and Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Pedagogy and Accompanying from the Catholic University of American. Dr. Murphy was revered teacher to countless voice students, many of whom went on to win major competitions and to appear with major opera companies, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Houston Grand Opera. He taught voice at the Baltimore School for the Arts, and was an Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Coppin State University, among other positions through the city. The scholarship honors Dr. Murphy’s legacy of passionate music-making and accomplishments by helping provide qualified Baltimore City Public School students with an opportunity to attend and pursue a music major in college.

Dream Fairview Building Scholarship
This award celebrates the memory of Chuck Levin, who believed in giving people opportunities to build their dreams. Mr. Levin opened Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center in August 1958, from a small mom and pop shop to multiple site music stores; till this day it is still a family owned establishment. Mr. and Mrs. Levin are known to adopt their workers as family and a true believer of paying forward. Dream Fairview Building Money honors those who dream of creating a future.

This scholarship award was established by Erika I. Miller, a CollegeBound Foundation alumna. After completing her academic journey at McDaniel College, she decided to give back and pay it forward through a scholarship. The E.I.M. Scholarship will award a scholar who strives to chase their dreams with diligence. In addition to the monetary award, recipients will receive mentoring.

Incentive Awards Program @ UMCP
Annually, nine participating high schools in Baltimore City and eight schools in Prince George's County each nominate senior students to compete for an Incentive Award. One student from each high school is selected as an Incentive Award Scholar to enroll at the University of Maryland, in the academic area of his or her choice, with all tuition and living expenses paid up to one's financial need.

Jeanette R. Wolman Scholarship
Jeanette Rosner Wolman earned her law degree in 1924 from the University of Maryland. Although admitted to the Maryland Bar Association, she campaigned for 30 years before she gained membership into the Baltimore City Bar Association which had not previously admitted minorities or women. Mrs. Wolman practiced law in Baltimore with her husband for 53 years.

John wants to celebrate his legacy and commitment to Baltimore by establishing a scholarship to help young adults from Baltimore City follow their dreams in culinary or hospitality management. Joyce A. Kroeller Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by family, friends and colleagues to honor the life and work of Joyce Kroeller, the first Executive Director of the CollegeBound Foundation and founder of the National College Access Network (NCAN). Sadly, Joyce died in June of 2007 from melanoma at the age of 57. A lifelong advocate for women and children who suffered from abuse and poverty, Joyce believed passionately in the power of higher education to improve lives. She was intensely committed to public service. This scholarship is awarded to a student who is planning a career dedicated to public service.

Kahdine Ann DaCosta Scholarship for Excellence in Leadership
This scholarship is open to scholars from: Baltimore City high schools that have previously participated in I AM O’Kah! high school college and career readiness program and/or workshops. In February of 2004, Kahdine passed away from breast cancer at the tender age of 26, leaving behind many dreams and aspirations of community service and civic engagement. The Kahdine Ann DaCosta Scholarship for Excellence in Leadership embodies her commitment to service and dedication to leadership. Acceptance into the program means scholars received $1,000 for their freshman year, $250 annual book stipend through college graduation and mentorship to succeed and flourish in college and beyond. As a Kahdine Ann DaCosta Scholar students will also be required to mentor other scholars as upper-classmen.

Khia "DJ K-Swift" Edgerton Memorial Scholarship
Khia “DJ K-Swift” Edgerton was a well-known Baltimore DJ, successfully navigating her way in a male-dominated fast-paced industry. At the age of 19 Khia began interning at 92Q Jams, where she was introduced as “DJ K-Swift” and soon became a full-time employee, and night show host. The recipient of this award demonstrates the characteristics of hard work and commitment to the pursuit of one’s dream. In July 2008, Khia died tragically and unexpectedly but her spirit lives on through the people that loved her and her contributions to the music industry in Baltimore.

Last Dollar Grant
The CollegeBound Last Dollar Grant is a need-based award for Baltimore City public high school graduates whose expected family contribution and financial aid package total less than the cost to attend college. Students who are awarded a CollegeBound Foundation Last Dollar Grant are eligible to receive a grant of up to $3,000 per year, renewable for up to six (6) years of college or the maximum amount of $18,000. These Grants are gift money that does not have to be repaid. Approximately 70 awards are given each year.

Lorenzo Felder Scholarship
The Lorenzo Felder Scholarship, awarded by the ONOSE, is intended to support the efforts of an African American male who is graduating from a Baltimore City public school. Lorenzo Felder was a founding member of the ONOSE, a local organization of African American men focused on social endeavors. Lorenzo sought to elevate our mission by not only paying back our social obligations but serving our community. M&T Bank Scholarship
M&T Bank was founded on the belief that banks exist to help people succeed. With that in mind, M&T Bank has created a renewable scholarship to help one Baltimore City Public High School Students attend college. This program is designed to lead scholars to full-time employment following graduation from college.

Milestone Bridge Builder Scholarship
The Milestone Bridge Builder II Scholarship is established to honor Alexander and Cora (Blanton) Miles. Alex and Cora who traveled from Cumberland, Virginia to Baltimore in 1919 and settled in East Baltimore with their two children, Elwood and Rebecca. Five children: James Walter, Francel, Roosevelt, Clarence, Pearline and George were born in Baltimore. This scholarship represents our family's appreciation and gratitude to Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and The National Academy Foundation. It allows, preferably, first generation higher education for students to attend a community college or an accredited trade school. Plank Family Foundation Last Dollar Grant
The CollegeBound Last Dollar Grant is a need-based award for Baltimore City public high school graduates whose expected family contribution and financial aid package total less than the cost to attend college. Students who are awarded a CollegeBound Foundation Last Dollar Grant are eligible to receive a grant of up to $3,000 per year, renewable for up to six (6) years of college or the maximum amount of $18,000. These Grants are gift money that does not have to be repaid. Approximately 70 awards are given each year.

The Richard E. Dunne, III Scholarship
Richard E. Dunne, a partner with the law firm of Hogan & Hartson (now known as Hogan Lovells US LLP), tragically died in an airplane crash on Thanksgiving Day, 1997. An active supporter of and volunteer for the CollegeBound Foundation, learning and doing were key to Rich's approach to life. His good humor and commitment challenged and inspired his family, his friends and his colleagues alike to make the most of every opportunity. This scholarship honors that commitment by helping to provide qualified Baltimore City Public School students with an opportunity that they might otherwise not have—to attend college.
