Tamekka Adkins

Tamekka Adkins

High School Program Associate

Tamekka was raised in Kansas where she attended the University of Kansas and later graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in African-American Studies and a minor in Criminal Justice.  Tamekka moved to Baltimore after graduating from college; where she began a 20 year career in the financial industry crossing both retail and investment banking. During her career, she realized that many youth and young adults lack basic financial knowledge, she started volunteering at her church to give seminars on financial health, she also volunteers with Baltimore Urban Baseball Association. Tamekka loves spending her free time with her family, reading, dancing, and listening to music. She is currently working on her vinyl record collection and renovating her home.  Tamekka is excited to be a part of CollegeBound Foundation and is looking forward to promoting higher education to Baltimore City youth.

Asia Bailey, M.S.W.

Associate Director of High School Programs

Asia Bailey is a native of Baltimore and a proud graduate of Western High School. After high school, Asia continued her education at Benedict College in Columbia, SC obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation and Leisure Services with a concentration in Recreation Therapy, became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc and served as a student-athlete on the Benedict College Women’s Volleyball Team. Following her undergraduate years, Asia went on to earn a Master of Social Work Degree from Walden University. Asia has served various cultural populations and community groups in behavioral health, short-term and long-term care, higher education, and athletics settings, including as an Adjunct Professor at a nearby university and a College Access Program Specialist through CollegeBound Foundation at her alma mater Western High School. Asia looks forward to implementing her knowledge of working in micro social work to impact a macro level in higher education and assist the youth/new student generation.

Tyler Barge

College Access Program Specialist

Tyler is originally from Georgia and received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies at Pace University in New York City. While at this institution, Tyler worked in the Office of Housing and Residential Life. Tyler recently taught classes such as Life Skills, Financial Literacy, College and Transition Prep at a therapeutic boarding school, where she created the curriculums from scratch.
Tyler is currently pursuing her masters at UMD in Library and Information Sciences. She is committed to creating a more equitable educational landscape for students.  Being new to Baltimore, Tyler is in pursuit of the best oysters and mussels in town.

Mario Clark

Mario Clark, M.A.ED.

Associate Director of High School Programs

Mario Clark is from Easton, Maryland, and a graduate of Easton High School. After High School, Mr. Clark attended and graduated from Bluefield State University in 1988. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership. Mario Spent 20 years working in the Kent County Public School System as a Special Education Teacher. In 2012, we relocated to Baltimore County, and I worked 4 years as an Admission Officer for Morgan State University, traveling the country and recruiting students to attend the university. As a College Admissions Recruiter, Mr. Clark was recognized by CollegeBound Foundation’s 2017 Representative of The Year.
I was the Associate Program Director in July 2022. Before that, I was The College Access Program Specialist at Achievement Academy High and Excel Academy at Francis M. Wood. I spent 4 years motivating and assisting students with College Applications, FASFA, Workforce, and Career applications. Mr. Clark is excited to assist students in Baltimore and surrounding communities to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.

Tawanda Clark

Tawanda Clark, M.B.A.

College Access Program Specialist, Level II

Tawanda Clark is a true Baltimorean who loves to eat Maryland Blue Crabs with family and friends. She has two brilliant sons who attended Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPSS). Tawanda understands in a very personal way the benefits of being a CollegeBound scholar; her eldest son was a CollegeBound Foundation scholarship recipient in 2017.  Tawanda has a passion for the BCPSS students, believing they can soar and become successful college graduates with the proper guidance from someone who has “been there and done that.” Tawanda is a graduate of the BCPSS, and she has acquired an Associate of Arts in Business Management from The Community College of Baltimore County and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Baltimore. Tawanda spent two years in the Baltimore City school system as a long‐term substitute teacher for various schools, while there she developed a love for teaching students phonics and reading comprehension. Tawanda believes that her experience with CollegeBound, her passion to see the Baltimore City students soar, and her life journey are the keys she needs to serve our scholars well.

Joel Conde

Joel Conde

College Access Program Specialist

Joel Conde, from Prince George’s County, Maryland, is a passionate community advocate with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition from Morgan State University. As a first-generation college student, he understands the importance of education and community support. Now a resident of Baltimore City, he brings a decade of experience in the nonprofit and education spaces, having worked as both a teacher and recreation leader for the city, a facilitator for B’more Healthy Kids, and as a training specialist for Global Refuge. Joel also volunteers as a supplemental instructor and academic tutor for the Goucher Prison Education Partnership, supporting incarcerated students in their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. In his spare time, he enjoys playing pick-up basketball, as well as camping, biking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
