College Completion Program

Program Accomplishments for the 2022-2023 Academic Year:

Student Persistence: Our initial cohort who matriculated in 2017 are on track for a 75% graduation rate.  2018 scholars are on track for a 78% graduation rate.  These rates are nearly double the college graduation rate of Baltimore City public school graduates attending a 4-year college.

Return to in-person events: We hosted our first in-person Transition to College Retreat since the pandemic. During the summer, we welcomed our incoming first-year scholars to have a 3-day, 2-night college life experience including staying on campus, eating at the dining hall, attending workshops to prepare them for the upcoming semester. Students enjoyed lots of bonding with other scholars who are experiencing all of the same feelings about starting this new adventure.

Scholar growth: We doubled the number of incoming First-Year students participating in our program from 75-155 scholars.

Staff growth: We have grown our staff from 2 to 5 College Completion Advisors.

College partner expansion: We have Advisors working with scholars in 22 colleges and universities in Maryland and 9 out-of-state.
