Micah Yarbrough is a proud graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (c/o 2013). After high school, she studied for two years at the Community College of Baltimore County before transferring to the University of Maryland College Park. In college, Micah discovered her passion for working with young people while mentoring student interns in the Johns Hopkins Summer Jobs Program. She was very active on campus with her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and participated in various opportunities which allowed her to help younger students improve their academic performance and self-esteem. When she graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Family Science, her love for being a resource for students in the education setting led her to Towson University where she worked as an admissions counselor for two years. She is currently pursuing a Master’s of Education Degree at Loyola University in School Counselor with plans to eventually serve as a high school counselor in Baltimore City or County.
