Evelyn Pearcy is from Baltimore and is a graduate of Baltimore City College HS. She holds a degree in Spanish from the University of Maryland, College Park, with certificates in international relations and conflict management. At UMD, Evelyn interned with the International Rescue Committee and worked at the university writing center. Through these experiences and through other volunteer endeavors, Evelyn ultimately decided to pursue a career in education through TNTP and TeachNola. In 2021, she moved to New Orleans, where she taught for one year and earned her teaching license. After earning her teaching credentials in Louisiana, Evelyn returned to Baltimore to serve and teach in the high school that she credits for much of her academic and professional success, Baltimore City College. For the past three years, Evelyn has worked on the school’s AP and IB English teams, revising the curriculum to improve student outcomes on AP and IB exams. In addition to her role at City High School, Evelyn has worked for two years as the junior cohort instructor at ¡Adelante Latina!, a community-based college access program for academically promising Baltimore City Latinas that very recently merged with the CollegeBound Foundation. Evelyn is thrilled to have been hired as the Program Coordinator of ¡Adelante Latina! at CollegeBound, and she is excited to continue and expand on her work with this program!
