A self‑proclaimed Maryland girl, Katrina was raised in Maryland and earned her degree in accounting from the University of Maryland after beginning her college journey out of state—an experience that taught her the importance of finding the right (college) fit. She began her career in finance in the DMV area and has since held roles across a variety of industries (in several states), including tech start-ups, large and small accounting firms, consulting and outsourcing, for profit, and nonprofit.
In 2017, after a relocation for her husband’s job, Katrina transitioned into nonprofit work as an outsourced Controller. She then discovered how meaningful it was to support mission‑driven organizations by providing strong financial leadership. Helping nonprofits focus on their missions while knowing their back‑office operations were in good hands became a defining part of her work.
After returning to the DMV area in 2021, Katrina—now well versed in the college readiness process as a parent—was later thrilled to work with CollegeBound Foundation through a consulting project. Now that Katrina has joined the organization’s growing accounting team, she is excited to work for an organization that supports students in her home state, particularly in Baltimore, as this allows her to combine her professional experience with a mission she values deeply.
Outside of work, Katrina enjoys planning home improvement projects, baking sourdough bread, spending time with her needy (but cute) rescue pup, reading, attending Ravens football games and various college sporting events with her family.
