Thomas Ormsby

Thomas was born in raised in Baltimore City. Immediately following high school, he went on to serve 8 years in the United States Army, both on active duty and in the National Guard. This experience taught him teamwork and the importance of recognizing the value of all team members in order to achieve success. After serving 5 years on active duty as a scout, Thomas attended CCBC, where he studied the Humanities and graduated Summa Cum Laude. In addition, he was recognized as CCBC’s Distinguished Scholar in History in 2022. After earning his AA, Thomas went on to attend Georgetown University and attain his Bachelors of Arts in Government. During this time, he served in student government as a Senator for the class of 2023, in addition to being the communications director for Georgetown’s Student Veterans Association, the 2022 national chapter of the year.

Coming from a non-traditional and working-class background, Thomas had to personally navigate the difficulties associated with “breaking into” higher education. His firsthand knowledge of this experience inspired him to pursue a career where he could help others as they face similar hurdles and barriers.
