MERIT Health Leadership Academy Program Manager
Michelle was born and raised in Maryland. She is an alumna of CollegeTracks, a Montgomery County non-profit that assists first-generation/ limited income students in attending college. Michelle attended Towson University where she received her B.S. and M.S. in Biology, following her interests in biomedical sciences.
Michelle always had an interest in education and holds the belief that everyone should have the access and opportunity to pursue higher education. As a recipient of programs centered on dismantling systemic barriers, her experiences and interests led her to work in higher education spaces where she supported students majoring in STEM subjects in the pursuit of careers in healthcare. Michelle has supported students at Bowie State University, University of Maryland College Park, and Johns Hopkins University.
She is excited to join CollegeBound and work with the MERIT program to design rewarding pre-health experiences for Baltimore City students. Michelle hopes to inspire, encourage, and motivate students to become healthcare leaders who are advocates, visionaries, and innovators. Outside of being a student advocate, Michelle enjoys baking new recipes and reading through her lengthy TBR.
