Tobius Nance

Tobius Nance is a first-generation CollegeBound alumni and a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Science. He was awarded the prestigious Suzanne G. and Murray A. Valenstein Baltimore Scholarship through the C.D. Mote Jr. Incentive Award Program.

Tobius’ commitment to serving youth began during his time at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory DEVCOM, where he served as a mentor and role model for students participating in the Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Science (GEMS) program, a summer initiative that exposes middle and high school students to STEM topics closely related to the mission of the Army. In addition to his work with GEMS, Tobius served as the Educational Outreach Student Ambassador for the Army Research Laboratory (ARL), acting as a liaison for interns in the Summer Researcher Development Program across various ARL installations in the region.

Tobius hopes to bring his experience in STEM education, mentorship, and community involvement, along with his passion for guiding young students, to the Early College Awareness Team, helping to inspire and prepare the next generation of scholars for higher education and career success.
