In the short year of knowing Aaliyah it feels as if I have known her all four years of high school. She is the captian of the cheerleading team at REACH!. Aaliyah has been advocating not only for herself but also for her classmates for better educational environments as well as standards. Weather it’s the mistreatment of students by teachers or students being able to have a no uniform day Aaliyah has been at the forefront of the push. Aaliyah is currently on the nursing track and has dreams and goals of serving the community. I remember when we had our first one on one meeting. She came in and laid out the plan of how she was going to accomplish her goal of getting to college. She sees that her community is not the world but that it is only a glimpse. I know that she is going to do great things she has overcome may challenges such as COVID where she lost a lot of people.
