Upon Eric’s arrival at Achievement Academy, he was classified as a sophomore with a 1.08 GPA. He worked diligently to improve his GPA to 2.62 and is on track to graduate with his class of 2023. Through Achievement Academy’s Social Emotional Learning program, Eric received an overwhelming level of support to address his issues. At this juncture in his life, Eric is fully functioning as a secure, and happy young adult. Eric is a model student and demonstrates extraordinary leadership abilities. He participates in several service-learning activities at school. He raises the school flag and assists the librarian in the food pantry for students and their families who are experiencing financial hardship. Eric is a student ambassador in the Counselor’s office greeting school visitors. Furthermore, he extends his service to the Workforce Coordinator/Family Engagement Liaison. In this role, he helps with the in-school mothers’ and fathers’ clubs, the parent group, and replenishing and stocking the stork’s nest clothes closet, and other essential items for teen parents. Eric enjoys working with his peers. He makes every attempt to inspire and motivate them. Eric’s ambition is to work in the performing arts. He has triumphantly conquered. Now, he has his sights set on empowering others through art so they can work toward the best versions of themselves as the finale. In closing, Eric’s selection as the Student of the Week is because of his resilience and dedication to improving his circumstances and his desire to give back to mankind.
