Stephany Sulbaran is a native of Maracaibo, Venezuela who relocated to Rhode Island at the age of ten. In 2015 she graduated with a BS in General Studies, minor in Psychology from Washington Adventist University, and a BS in Social Work from Andrews University. Making a difference in her community has always been her passion. After graduation, she began working in the nonprofit sector, where she spent five years as a Community School Coordinator, leading community events, programming, and workshops. From there, she went on to work with mental health and Medicaid administration organizations. She moved to Baltimore in 2020, where she continued to be a community leader at various organizations and through volunteering. Her unwavering commitment to community drove her to become a Women’s Commissioner for the City of Baltimore in March 2022.
