Jenae Burrell has proven to be a tremendous asset to her school and her community. She is a standout student in the Community Law in Action’s (CLIA) Law and Leadership Academy at Reginald F. Lewis. Her drive and enthusiasm for her studies has helped her land in the top five of her graduation class. Jenae is a passionate and community-minded young woman, who is determined to drive meaningful change in her community. She has participated in CLIA’s Summer Leadership Program for two years and serves as the Communication Director for their Youth Advisory Council. As a member, Jenae regularly testifies before the Baltimore City Council on reducing violence and improving transportation services for students. This year, she will lead a policy proposal presentation on increasing the number of peer mediation programs to reduce school violence and suspensions in the City. A long-time member of the debate team, Jenae has a true talent for public speaking and negotiating. She plans to major in law and pursue a career advocating for human rights.
