Shirley Suarez, ambitious and diligent, moving to the United States from Ecuador, not only did she successfully learn English, but she challenged herself with Advanced Placement Language and Literature courses. Dedicated to her community, she serves as a school interpreter working with the ESOL program and volunteers at CASA of Maryland. Her intellectual curiosity along with her ability to adapt and transcend is impressive.
