Originally from Pennsylvania, Charlotta attended the University of Pittsburgh where she received a BA in Art History and Chinese Language & Literature.  After graduation, she moved to New York City where she worked as an insurance underwriter and eventually married and began a family with her husband.  Having volunteered extensively in the Title 1 public elementary school her kids attended, Charlotta was hired to run a nonprofit after-school program that provided childcare and enrichment services to the students at the school. She led the school’s afterschool program for 13 years.

Charlotta’s work with the school community experiencing many of life’s challenges including divorce, addiction, child abuse, and income and housing insecurities has made her a firm believer in John F. Kennedy’s exhortation: “One person can make a difference, and everyone should try.”   She is extremely proud to have helped to make a difference in the lives of children, especially because it pays forward what her grandmother did to make a difference in Charlotta’s difficult childhood.  Charlotta is excited to join the CollegeBound team, and hopes through her role in Human Resources to support and serve the people and the mission who help make a difference for young people in Baltimore City.

In her free time, Charlotta enjoys reading, yoga, cooking, and spending time with her family on neighborhood walks to local dog parks with their beloved family dog, Scout.  Despite her love of her alma mater, Charlotta and her family are devoted fans of local sports teams, especially the Orioles, the Ravens, and the Philadelphia 76ers.
