Maura was born and raised in the Baltimore area and attended La Salle University in Philadelphia, where she studied International Relations and Spanish. After college, she received a Fulbright grant to teach at a technical university in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and lead outreach efforts at a local shelter.
Upon returning to Baltimore, Maura spent nearly four years in the Office of the Inspector General, where she became Baltimore’s first Ethics Officer, dedicated to carrying out the work of the Ethics Board. In 2024, driven by her passion for supporting young women in their educational journeys, she joined ¡Adelante Latina!, a college access program for Latina high school students in Baltimore. In 2025, the program became part of CollegeBound’s Division of High School Programs and is now known as ¡Adelante Latina! at CollegeBound. As Program Coordinator, Maura develops, implements, and oversees the program’s operations.
Outside of work, Maura enjoys spending time with her family, especially while outdoors or exploring new places.
